(3)They are planning to request the support of Date Volunteer Council to help operating PCs.
(4)As to Oshamanbe, Hokkaido Municipality will consider about accepting the assistance Yagumo Town Office in its request .

----The above is from a message of Hokkaido General Planning Department Information Policy Section----------

Local reactions are as follows:

Hokkaido Watarijima Branch Office should appoint local staff as PC operators !

---------Correspondence from Oshamanbe--------
・Donan ML
・Yagumo PC Club
・Yagumo Town Office Denno (Electronic Brain) Club

All these teams are ready to move for support in PCs operation.
It also reported that since they have sufficient number of staffs at Yagumo Town Office, Yagumo will able to work officially(during duty hours) to help Oshamanbe if they get an official request from Hokkaido-Watarijima Municipal Branch Office.
Of course during off-duty hours, they say they can move freely.

The above-mentioned was confirmed by group members of Yagumo Town (30 minutes distant to Oshamanbe).

----------The Present condition at Oshamanbe ---------

Through the talk on the phone with Oshamenbe Town Office, we found that there sre some problems as follows:
・Lack of man-power(It is difficult for them now even to answer each telephone call.)
・Although PCs are installed, the town office is unable to cope with their operations because of lack of technical knowledge about PCs.

For Oshamanbe officials, collecting information is a very hard work. (2.5 -hour distance from Oshamanbe to Hakodate )

Volunteers from other areas cannot move by themselves , which leads to further burden to the Town in the long run.

Therefore, the personel who know the areas well can be ideal volunteers for Oshamanbe.

As to installation of PCs, with the support of Yagumo, it is possible to open a homepage on the HINET, since most of the team members belong to the HINET.
